2012 USA OLYMPIC BASKETBALL TEAM UNIFORMS

the US Olympic basketball uniforms are rad. The geometric play between the three letters USA give a rad feeling of flight to the logo. the Creative Director of Nike Basketball apparel, Darrin Crescenzi established a design vision for the uniform— a principle Darrin called the “flicker effect,” wherein a single neutral body color is visible while a player is inactive, with a flash of pop color revealed during a defensive stance, dunk or jump shot — inspired by the defensive behaviors of certain wild fish and birds. The back of the uniform features a ventilation pattern in the shape of the American flag.
YELAWOLF POSTER

I’ve been at Powerhouse Factories for 2 months or so and I’ve been amped to get into screen printing. Turns out it’s as rad as I thought it would be. I didn’t even care who it was for and that’s how I got the Yelawolf poster. For those of you who aren’t in the know Yelawolf is an up and coming rapper from Alabama. I don’t know how accurate or offensive this is but it’s white trash rap. To tell you the truth it’s not half bad either. I don’t know if its because I made sure to listen to

Let’s start this off right. She said yes…
I’m not great at telling stories via the written word. I’m more of a show and tell sort of guy. Lots of hand motions and detours. So here are some photos of how I asked. She walked in and noticed I’d put up a new chalk board drawing in her house. It took the next 5 minutes for me to get her to realize that this was really happening and that no family or friends were there to jump out and see her crying.
ALPHABETCHA ILLUSTRATED FONT

Alphabetcha is an illustrated font Inspired by Ren and Stimpy, and AGGHHHH Real Monsters. Nathan Walker has created a wonderfully strange set of 26 letters and an ampersand. I grew up on these cartoons so naturally I’m a fan.

HANDMADE TYPE BY TIEN-MIN LIAO

Handmade Type is a typographic experiment by designer Tien-Min Liao wherein shapes painted on her hands are transformed by gestures to create letterforms. However she gave herself a unique constraint: the painted figures on her hands for each individual letter had to be utilized for all variations of the letter, both upper and lowercase and sometimes even italic and handwritten. This is a self-initiated typographic experiment that explores the relationships between upper-case letters and lower-case letters, and also records the transformation between them.
FOUND FREE FONTS

If there’s one thing you should know about me it’s that I’m a free font junkie. Not just any free font will do though. I’m a snob as well. Sure there are a plethora of shitty free fonts out there. Hell now that every kid is a fucking designer you could find a whole bag of knock off turd fonts.
So i’ve pulled this first set of my favorite found free fonts. Enjoy.
